between these 2 crimes if i commit them. car theft, whether it is hot wiring it from a private home or a dealership. point a gun at them and pull them out of their vehicle at a red light. OR shoot someone with a handgun, but they survive. if you get mad at them for such a ridiculous reason. what is the penalty for each of them? how long in prison? how much fine or bail? house arrest available? do the little factors matter? for example, if whether it is an expensive car or cheap one? or how many times you shot the person on the body and where you shot them?

Car theft (wiring/stealing)- felony, but not overly offensive punishable by probation if no prior record

Grand Theft Auto (Stealing the car with intention to cause bodily harm/using deadly force)- felony, GTA has become a much more serious crime over the years and you will serve a minimum of 5 years in prison.

Shooting a person (attempted murder)- felony, a minimum of 5-10 years (could be much longer depending on the degree you are charged with)without parole than whatever else you end up serving.

Note- to your other question..the value of the car doesn't matter and will not change the severity of the crime. How many times you shoot a person would matter...it shows more intent to kill a person instead of a sudden non-premediated action. Therefore you would serve more prison time. As for bails and fines they all vary depending on the state and judge.

These are basics I have learned in my years of studying law, however they vary greatly depending on how well a defense attorney can fight your case and state laws.

I believe the latter would carry the harshest penalty. At any rate you will still go to prison/jail and they will pass you around like a used magazine. And you will find a husband who will protect you just have to cater to his every whim. So don't be a fool - obey the law. This way vasaline does not have to be on your Christmas list.

Shooting some one will get you in more trouble. They can charge you with attempted murder. Taking a Life is always worst than taking property.

if you shoot someone you will face major criminal charges AND be sued if they live regardless if it was justified or not ... if you steal a car first offence you'll be out the same day probably

You're basically asking which is worse, theft or murder/attempted murder. The answer is obvious.
