My children were not allowed to date until the age of 16.

I believe that 16 is an appropriate age to begin dating.
I think it's alright to have friends of the opposite sex and spend time with them at 14 but it's still too young to start dating. Teenagers today are trying to grow up too fast and years later they may deal with consequences they aren't prepared for.
They should take their time and enjoy youth before jumping in to dating/relationships. They have so many years after that age to date others that it may seem a waste to start too young. Have fun doing the things that impending adulthood will take time from.

I think 16 is the right age to date. Anyway, would you want your mom to drive you around on your dates? Get a license and go get into some trouble together and have fun. By ALL means though, do not have sex!!!!!!

I think 14 is an ok age as long as you are mature enough to wait to have sex and the boy or girl respects the same thing.

yeh i started at 15 so yeh around the 14 15 age group.

That depends on your definition of normal. In purely statistical terms, fourteen might very well be "normal." However, I'm in my late teens and have never been on a date. I believe it is entirely based on the individual's maturity.

14 is a good age for dating and going out. I do not think it is a good age for sex.
There is a difference.

I told my daughter she couldn't date until after I died. Most people that I know let their daughters start dating at 16.
