I volunteer at a nursing home. It is a place where people are put and forgotten. We treat animals better than the elderly. So if your looking for somewhere to volunteer try the nursing home in your area.

As far as satisfying and fun that depends on your tastes. One project that my daughters came up with is to collect bottles and cans and take them to a recycling center. They saw how much money they got and decided to take it to a larger scale. They now have their classes bringing in bottles and cans from home. They then take in the bottles and cans get the money and the class votes on what to do with the money. For November they are taking the money and giving it to a food bank for 'Turkey's'.


This project involves not only you (organizing) but your class mates as well. You will not only be helping someone else, but cleaning up the environment as well.

Serving food to the homeless, helping with food drives, collecting donations the possibilities are endless. A question for you is what do you actually want to do? Is it help children, work with the elderly...etc. Make a list. Start with that and then check your local community centers to see if they have listings that match your list.

The possibilities are endless! Go to a soup kitchen and donate a few hours, Drop by your local cemetary and help with the grounds there!

Pick what you are passionate about, and find a way to help out in that capacity. Homelessness was my pet issue in college, so I did Habitat for Humanity.

i use to be a volunteer firefighter.. can't really get better action than that. You could also join the air patrol. learn to fly a plane and perform rescue and things like that.
