No. Leprechauns were known to the Celts long before Christ was. The Roman Catholic Church.actually always disapproved of leprechauns, or disbelieved in them, as the case may be. Now that nobody really believes in them anymore, the Church is willing enough to use the image of the leprechaun for fun.

No. Leprechauns predate Christianity and possible even the Celts in Ireland.
In Irish mythology, a leprechaun is a kind of male faerie. Leprechauns are said to have inhabited Ireland before the arrival of the Celts around 500 BCE.
With love in Christ.

Not really.
The Little People voices, the "Voices of the Lorelei", the Sirens, the Banshee, the Windego, and so on are all myths and legends to explain the fact that human brains try to make sense out of random sounds and make up voices out of them after about three days of not hearing a Human voice.
It is a transient effect only triggered by white noise patterns. The voices heard by babbling brooks are another case.
I would be very surprised if there was not an African jungle version, a Chinese mountain version, or an Arab desert version.
The one thing in common to all theses myth and legends is the warning not to wander off looking for the voices.
These are not the voices that the schizophrenics hear.
Though the effect has been simulated in labs and is related to activity in the audio centers of the brain it is not well known or studied, and because in the modern world we are so seldom out of earshot this form of audio hallucination effect is not well known anymore. It is related to the effect of hearing strange voices if you play recording tapes backwards.
