How do I keep the neighbors cats away from my wild birds that I feed? They are catching them, tearing them apart and leaving them lay about....this must stop....but how?
I spoke to the neighbors and they don't care, they say it is what cats do.....As much as I want to kill them, I can't....as that would be wrong in my opinion....so what can I do to make them not come back?

This is a tough one! What bad neighbors you have!
You can trap them. Shelters rent traps and will take the cats for a small fee. If you go to a shelter in a different city the owners are less likely to find them once they are gone (unless they're microchipped, then you may get in trouble). They'll probably get another cat though.
Cats can jump over and crawl under just about anything, so barriers, even electrified ones, can be defeated by the darn cats. And anything that scares off the cats will scare off the birds.
Good luck with that particular problem.
Sorry for your troubles.

If your feeder are on a pole put tall metal skirting around the base so they cannot approach the feeder.
Animal control - would be a good start. Your neighbors should have more respect for you. Are you in the city limits? What is the ordnance?
Live trap and sell them back to your neighbors. or take them to a good shelter.

a dog is a good answer, do you have one? can you use a BB gun? you would have to sit and wait for the cat
if you could spray the cat with the garden hose everytime he showed up that would be a good deterent
cats are so quiet and sneaky, it's difficult to run them off
have you tried hanging your bird feeders up higher so the cat
can't reach them?

call the police or animal shelter.

police - they will speak to the owners and give them a warrant saying that if they do not keep their cats off ur property they will have their cats taken away.

animal shelter - they will stop by ur place and pick up any cats roaming around ur property.

OK, the best advice you'll ever get right here: if those cat's don't have collars, shoot at them with a BB gun. I bet they won't come around any time soon when they got shot in the butt.

Get some humane traps then take them to the pound and say u found this stray cat in your yard. They will get sick of having to pay to get them out.

Get a havahart trap. And take them to the pound for your neighbors to pick up. Watch out for retaliation, because they'll know it was you that did it.
