The only people you can change is yourself. If you find the light of love inside you, you will be like a candle to iluminate others around you. The ones who have eyes to see may be lighted by your wamth, but they can also disregard and follow their paths. Cultivating love inside oneself is a trying task. Jesus did not comand anyone, He gave us the chance to choose. If you read His teachings you can let His light start the light in your heart. If you can make this light shine you will help the world. If you disregard, and this is your choice, it will take longer for you to grow in love's freedom, or you will be a slave of this limited dimension forever.

1. You must trust Jesus personally as Savior - that's where you begin - without a personal relationship with Chrst, forget anything else - "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved." Acts 16:31 Come to Him now if you have not, asking Him to forgive you and to come into your life.
2. RE: His command is: love - love yourself, love others, love love [God] - Although self-love is taught by pop psychology, and even "Christian" counselors who ought to know better, it is not taught in the Bible, and it is a great error to believe there is a command to love yourself - the Bible presumes it already, no one has to work at it, it happens naturally, since we are by nature self-centered. If you look at Matthew 22:37-40 it says the following:
...37 And He said to him, " 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.'
38 "This is the great and foremost commandment.
39 "The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'
40 "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."
...Did you catch it in verse 40? On these two commandments - which two? It can only be to love God supremely and love your neighbor AS YOU ALREADY do love yourself!
*****************************************************************************
...Also check 2 Timothy 3 - here God is talking about the last days, and please notice that self-love tops the list of sinful behavior to avoid - observe:
1 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.
2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,
4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
************************************************************************
3. Nowhere does God say you must meet every need - only He can do that, and He uses lots of people to accomplish His will - sometimes it is better not to help, i.e., like propping up and supporting someone who will not work, when God says that we must work to eat, and if we don't, hunger will drive to do what we should. Be careful and prayerful before meeting others needs, and make sure you can, that God wants you to, and that your needs are met, too.

...The only way to be Christian is to first have trusted in Jesus as Savior, and follow Him, day by day, moment by moment, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
...Follow Him, and remember He said, "I came that they might have life, and have it more abundantly." (John 10:10). This means a full, meaningful life, not one of incredible religious burn-out.
...He also said in Matthew 11:28-30, "Come unto Me, all you that labor and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and you shall find rest for your souls."
...Even as Christians, we have a tendency to overburden ourselves and get on performances kicks with God, and fill our lives with religious activities, hoping somehow we can please God with our own efforts, when Jesus has paid it all, and if we trust in Him, God is pleased with us - He justifies us by faith, and we no longer are under condemnation.
...You seem to complicate the Christian life. Check 2 Corinthians 11:3, which says, "But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ." Don't make the Christian life any harder than it is - devote yourself to the Lord Jesus Christ.
...Trust in Christ - He will lead you where you should go.
...I wish you and all readers a blessed eternity.
...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved (Acts 16:31), and remember, whosoever will, may come.
