Someone was telling me about a painting she's seen in art class, and she wanted to find it again. She doesn't remember the Artist OR the name of the painting. But, she's got a somewhat vague description: She says it's of a Pregnant woman standing before an Oval-Shaped mirror, looking into it, and perhaps has her hand on her pregnant belly...? I don't think she really specified what the angle is (IE, behind the mirror facing the woman, or behind the woman facing her back as she faces the mirror, or from the side... etc)... She thinks it may be a more famous older artist (kinda like Da Vinci, but probably not him). I did about 200 Google searches for different keyword combinations and things... but no luck. Maybe an art buff would be able to tell me what it is? If you know of one that even generally fits those points, Please say the Artist and painting name so I can find it to look... a link might be cool too, but I could probably find it in search... :) THANKS!

Hmmm... I don't think that would be it... She indicated that the woman was standing alone... and I she thought it was a well-known artist, like one the average U.S. citizen might well know (Van Gough, Da Vinci)... Thanks for the attempt, though.. I don't know if these additional details help.....

I wonder if you mean "The Arnolfini Portrait" by Jan van Eyck in the National Gallery, London.

This features a couple standing in a room with a mirror behind them. The woman looks pregnant and looks like she is resting her hand on her belly, but art historians say she is just holding up her fashionable dress.

I hope this is the one and have linked it below.

There's not too much your friend is giving you to go on here. The only other "famous" painting I can think of that has a woman with a mirror is Diego Velazquez's "Venus at her Mirror"..........but she is not pregnant. Have a look at the second link below........otherwise I'm stumped without some further clues. Sorry.
