depends on how long ago and how you have handled your financial responsibilities since then. most depts look at it to make sure you won't become "dirty" accepting bribes, payoffs etc. one thing be honest !!! if you lie about it you are out the door just as quick as you walked in. good luck

It's important to show a history of responsibility. But don't be shocked about this. There are police officer's who have filed bankruptcy. Just show that you've tried to fix the problem.

Not necessarily, but they consider this, because a cop in dire financial straits could become a rogue cop if the price were right.

I don't think so. You'll be in the gravy in no time as a cop, with all the moolah you'll get without restrictions.

For all they bark about "not paying cops enough for what they do", cops make a very nice salary, where meal allowances, a free car and gas, chunky cost of living raises, and unrestricted overtimes pump it up nicely.

Ah, did no longer get the solutions you needed from the final rant so which you will attempt a distinctive tact. you have stated a super form of opinion (regularly lies) as fact. yet i'm guessing your answer is to censor "perfect wing" media using fact all of us be attentive to the left needs you to stay dumb and ignorant, different smart they might loose help. 4% isn't that super of a margin, so it does no longer take lots fact to win the fence sitters over and then some with a tad of brains from the left and you will possibly not at all see yet another democrat in workplace.
