My camera automatically takes the video as a .mov file... I need it to be .avi is there anyway to do this? i looked in every menu on the camera

No, but you can convert the video from .mov to .avi. Here's a link to some helpful guides:

transfer the video to your computer. download software from www.blazemp.com or www.freedownloadcenter.com
then you can change the file format.
also try adobe products, am forgetting the name but it is used for editing, converter etc.

no ...you have to convert that "mov" in avi using a third part software.

You have to get it onto the computer to convert it. Try SUPER. It does most file formats.
