I also want to say I felt violated because she had no right to just go out and start kissing him like if he was hers....I mean there were times I wanted to give him a kiss on his tiny baby lips because he is so scrumptous but I even held myself back.

That is not sanitary for the baby. You did the right thing speaking up. That's YOUR baby and if you don't protect it from things no one will.
As far as the awkwardness you might just try to explain to her why you don't like it and then tell her you don't want the problem to ruin things between you.
People are weird though and some people love being offended and hurt so it could remain a problem. If that's how she reacts then I wouldnt worry about her anymore and you should just move on and let go. Don't stress out over someone elses problem.

Some people don't find that to be inappropriate. People with different ethnic or cultural backgrounds have varying opinions about whether or not it's appropriate to give small children a kiss on the lips.

My family is Italian and we kiss everyone, babies included, on both cheeks, but it's not necessarily a bad sign or something worrisome-- it may just be normal in her family or where she's from.

Well, I am not saying it was the coolest thing to do, but every great once in awhile I gave my babies pecks on the lips. I don't see what the big deal is. But....if you are not comfortable with it, you did the right thing. If you are worried about being awkward around her the only thing that will solve that is being around her more often. Now that she knows your rule about it I am sure she won't do it again. Laugh it off and carry on.
Best wishes

I agree it's gross (proven as a way that babies get bad bacteria) and good for you for telling her to stop. Don't think any more of it and believe me, there will be more awkward situations to come....some people just think babies are little dolls and that whatever they did to their kids is what they can do to others'.

You are absolutely right!! Stick to your guns and don't feel awkward. Go about your life normally and forget it, but keep an eye on that woman!

Do you feel ackward because you told her? Or that she may do it again? In either case, it's your baby, and you made yourself clear. There's no reason to feel ackward. If she feels ackward, that's HER problem.
