There have been many "utlimate warriors" throughout the course of history. They were true masters of their little slices of the art and science of war.

Miyamoto Musashi, Sun Tzu, Attila, Genghis Khan, the list goes on. All of them were the ultimate warriors of their day. Personally, I think that truly the best would be a toss-up between Musashi and Sun Tzu, especially considering that both go deep into the psychology and the philosophy of combat as well as its execution, but that is only my opinion.
