What you are supposed to prevent is your death. Your spiritual death. That is why we are warned with war, famine , disease, pestilence, and natural disasters. To put fear in us...to make us aware of our physical deaths so that we might start thinking and maybe prepare for the after life. God will not stop all of the offenses of man against man on this plain. If he interfered with them that would be crossing the line of free will. That answers the Q to what some ask...why does God allow such horrible things to happen..why would he allow the innocent to be harmed. But he will send his blessings and his protection if you are serving him or you can be sanctified by another that serves him and is praying for you.By sanctified I did not mean that someone can pray you in to heaven. I meant that God in his grace and mercy will be some what protective over you spiritually while here on Earth , so that you might have time to repent. Haven't you ever notice that people will turn to God when there life is the hardest? He loves us just and more that a mother and he will let us experience what we need to , in order to turn to him. But after a while even God will turn us over to a Reprobate mind if we don't turn to him after He has done all that he could do.

But warning us can prevent some of us from missing out on Heaven.

It is not to prevent It, it is to let people know they should get their spiritual act together so they will not stick around until then. According to the Vedic texts which where given at the time of creation - the end of the whole cosmic creation is in another 427,000 years The thing we have to consider is our own personal time of death is coming and what ever your consciousness is at the time of death is what you attain in your next life. For this we need to be prepared. Go to www.stephen-knapp.com for universal truths get the book How the universe was created and our purpose in it.

The point in warning is to have us seek Him and make Him known.
The night is far spent, the day is at hand:
Romans 13:12
Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Isaiah 55:6

God's point in warning us is not to prevent the end from coming...but rather so that we might be prepared for judgment day...

Satan has already failed, he has already lost the battle the war and everything else he just trys to bring as many people down with him as he can. Its a statement more than a warning so people will follow God and do what is right.... He's just looking out for his children.

Matthew 24:44
"For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.
Matthew 4:17
From that time Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
Rev. 22:17
The Spirit and the bride say, "Come." And let the one who hears say, "Come." And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.

The point in God warning us about the end is not to prevent it, but rather so we can be ready for it. So when Jesus comes to claim His bride(the church) we will be ready for Him.

You have the wrong emphasis on "prevent"
Without question you know Earth is headed for and end....whether you believe the Bible,,,,,,Economist,....Scientists,,,,,,or Witch Doctors......
Inevitable is "Heaven and Earth will pass.....but my words shall not." There is something more valuable that material: what is preventable is my end and yours.

a form of comfort and to let us know what is excepted and then we wont be thinking what going on. to show that he also fullfills his promises. The bible has a beginning so its got to have a ending. Just like a story. But of course its a fact not a novel
