Questions aren't ignorant, people are. The fact they are asking a question shows they want to learn. Try looking at it from a standpoint that you might be helping someone. Maybe you can answer it in a way that helps them rearrange their thinking.

I usually try to be discerning regarding which questions I answer. Sometimes I do choose to answer a question that seems inflammatory , rude or just ignorant, but I do not feel like I am lowering my intellect for two reasons:
first, I try really hard not to answer a fool according to their folly, just because they are rude or ignorant does not mean I have to answer in the same tone
second, I don't answer so much for the asker as I do for others that may read the answer and be misled by false information orwords that are only meant to mislead or cause strife. If I can leave an intelligent and respectful answer, no matter how ridiculous the question, someone , somewhere may just get the information they need at just the time they need it.

Because I am schizoaffective I always feel more or less than most others. I have forgotten more than most humans will ever know. And from what I remember it was by my own choice. Will your next question be about those who answer with ignorant answers? Just a question. Don't get offended. I've been much lower anyway. How many points in how much time on Yahoo Answers makes someone obsessive compulsive?

Many times. They should have two or three categories in Yahoo questions. One for 10 and under, one for 11 to 20 and the last for adults over 21 where most of the questions would make sense. I just love to read some of the answers given by children to adult questions.

If answering someones question has the possibility of lowering our intellect, then I'd say were all in trouble. Pretty soon we should be drooling. LOL Seriously though..no I don't ever feel that way.

NO! Do you? and if your answer is yes, then you and others who believe that way ought not be among this group!
Keep in mind that in playing the role of a teacher, you learn much more than you are passing on to your students.
Yes, I do agree that sometimes is frustrating but don't forget that people learn from people and whoever said that God created us all equal, he was either wrong or a liar.

Ignorant questions bring out a side of my personality which I have a love/hate relationship with and that is my sarcastic or cynical side. I don't like myself when I am putting someone down but I'm feeling compelled to do it anyway.

Not at all. If, at some stage in my life, someone hadn't answered my ignorant questions, I wouldn't be where I am now. Not meaning to sound arrogant, just a plain fact.

Sometimes. But I have heard that there is no such thing as a dumb question, if it is being asked sincerely for the purpose of seeking knowledge. Sometimes, it is more ignorant for someone to think he or she knows something when they really don't.

No, us smart people like to be playful and have fun too. I can not lower or alter my intellect by one action.
