It is true that Jehovah's Witnesses are not loved by everyone.
http://jw-media.org/newsroom/human_rights.htm
Some people hate Jehovah's Witnesses out of ignorance, or over some misunderstanding. A few may have had a bad personal experience with an individual who claimed to be a Jehovah's Witness, and prejudicially extended their animus to this entire Christian religion.
However, it seems that the majority of anti-Witness hatred is motivated by religious intolerance and bigotry. A few may even be motivated against their Christian worship by the unseen 'god of this system of things', Satan the Devil.
(2 Corinthians 4:4) the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers
Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:
(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.
(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.
(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.
It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

Absolutely the Bible is clear. In Deuteronomy 13 and 18, it talks about how we should treat a false prophet. We are to recognize them and not listen to them. Why doesn't the population take that passsage seriously?
It can't get a lot more clear than that!
The answers you have seen have some false prophecies listed. It only takes 1, but there are hundreds of them. Another thing that happens is the Society contradicts itself. In one book, the Sodomites will be resurrected and in the next, they won't. How could that be more clear?
The clairity is due to "spin doctors" and members with a poor memory. They forget certain things. "Get your foot in the door" is an idiom that was started because the JW's took portable victorola's out with "Judge" Rutherford's speeches. The aim as a JW was to get your foot in the door so that the owner of the house could not close the door and then crank up the Victorola. That meant that they got to listen to about 15 minutes of "Judges" diatribes. They forgot to mention in their history book how they picketed a number of Christian churches and interrupting their services with placards and shouting "Religion is a snare and a racket" in the same time period. So much for their lily white pacifistic image!
They are a cult because they say that they are the only true way of salvation just like the Mormons do.
We don't follow them because we wish to follow the ways of God and not those made by man.

It's not that I'm 'against' them, I just don't believe in what JWs believe. I had a JW who would visit me on a weekly basis and she'd leave her WatchTower magazine. I read it one time. While I don't remember in great detail everything I read, certain things still stick with me. There was an article talking about how to keep your house clean and how Jehovah doesn't like dirt. Children should not play where they will get dirty. You must bathe every day. To me; it sounded very weird. There's tons of awful things happening in the world, and all God wants me to do is vacuum???? LOL! I remember getting the impression that I was reading something from the 1950s; when a woman's role was to bake everything from scratch and live to keep her man happy! Totally not for me.
And I honestly still don't understand why JWs aren't allowed to celebrate ANYTHING. I don't think God looks down upon rejoicing in happy times. Where does it say that in the Bible?? Where does it state; "You may not have parties or gather to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or holiday"?

The Bible has been translated so many times that many things have been lost in translation. I had two Mormons that would come to my house every week. I tried to be polite and told them that I had a baby and that he had been in the intensive care unit for the last month and I would appreciate a call before they come by. But they never listen. They insisted on coming each week, banging on the door and waking the baby or just disturbing whatever is going on in our day. They wanted to leave their Watchtower magazine. They want to talk and tell me how I am corrupting my teenage son by allowing him to play video games. I think bottom line...why can't people decide for themselves? Why can't Mormons and Jehovah witnesses just leave people alone to believe as they wish? The Bible is NOT clear. There are numerous contradictions, each religion uses one or two "important" verses to base their belief and then everyone that doesn't believe their way is wrong.

You just did what offends people so much about the Jehovah's Witnesses. You put every other religion down, telling them that their religion and beliefs are wrong and that only Jehovah's Witnesses are living the true and right life in religion. If Jehovah's Witness is what you believe, then that is good for you, but other people believe differently then you and you have no right to tell them that what they believe is wrong. If you want to quote the bible, I believe the passage of, "Judge not lest yea be judged" would fit in there somewhere. I think if you would practice your religion as you choose and not force it on others and constantly put other religions down, you would not get such a negative response when the Jehovah's Witness name is brought up.

If you really want your confidence in your faith bolstered, this is the wrong venue to use! Expect to be criticized and ridiculed here...it is best to not worry too much about what people think.
I am not a religious person but know people who are Jehovahs Witnesses and love them! They have several beliefs that are similar to my personal ones and we have some things in common.
Although I don't agree with the extreme stance they take on no celebrations...especially patriotic ones...I can understand their reasoning. As a group, JW's don't like nationalism and that causes them to be disdained in many countries. When nation wants to fight with other nations, they don't like religions telling them that it isn't right and Godly. Of course JW's will be hated in the world of war.
Just believe as you think you should and be true to your philosophy. I don't have a problem with anyone's religion as long as they practice what they preach. Most people don't, you know.
Chin up and live up to your faith no matter what other's think or ridicule you about.

Why are JW's so OPPOSED TO SCRIPTURE, misrepresenting it and misinforming their followers. The organization has CLAIMED to be a prophet of God and has prophesied FALSELY. Therefore, they are FALSE PROPHETS. WHY ARE YOU FOLLOWING FALSE PROPHETS???
Deuteronomy 18:20 “But suppose a prophet dares to speak in my name something I have not commanded him to say. Or he speaks in the name of other gods. Then that prophet must be put to death.” 21 You will say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message hasn’t been spoken by the LORD?” 22 Sometimes a prophet will announce something in the name of the LORD. And it won’t take place or come true. Then that’s a message the LORD hasn’t told him to speak. That prophet has dared to speak on his own authority. So don’t be afraid of him or what he says.
In 1972 the Jehovah's Witness Watchtower claimed to be the prophet of God.
IDENTIFYING THE "PROPHET" -- "So does Jehovah have a prophet to help them, to warn them of dangers and to declare things to come? These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet?...This "prophet" was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah's Christian Witnesses...Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a ‘prophet' of God. It is another thing to prove it." The Watchtower, 4/1/72, p. 197.
1897 "Our Lord, the appointed King, is now present, since October 1874," Studies in the Scriptures, Vol. 4, page 621.
1899 "...the ‘battle of the great day of God Almighty' (Revelation 16:14), which will end in A.D. 1914 with the complete overthrow of earth's present rulership, is already commenced." The Time Is at Hand, page 101 (1908 edition).
1916 "The Bible chronology herein presented shows that the six great 1000 year days beginning with Adam are ended, and that the great 7th Day, the 1000 years of Christ's Reign, began in 1873." The Time Is at Hand, page ii, (forward).
1918 "Therefore we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old, particularly those named by the Apostle in Hebrews 11, to the condition of human perfection." Millions Now Living Will Never Die, page 89.
1922 "The date 1925 is even more distinctly indicated by the Scriptures than 1914." The Watchtower 9/1/22, page 262.
1923 "Our thought is, that 1925 is definitely settled by the Scriptures. As to Noah, the Christian now has much more upon which to base his faith than Noah had upon which to base his faith in a coming deluge." The Watchtower, page 106 4/1/23.
1925 "The year 1925 is here. With great expectation Christians have looked forward to this year. Many have confidently expected that all members of the body of Christ will be changed to heavenly glory during this year. This may be accomplished. It may not be. In his own due time God will accomplish his purposes concerning his people. Christians should not be so deeply concerned about what may transpire this year." The Watchtower, 1/1/25, page. 3.
1925 "It is to be expected that Satan will try to inject into the minds of the consecrated, the thought that 1925 should see an end to the work." The Watchtower, Sept, 1925 page 262.
1926 "Some anticipated that the work would end in 1925, but the Lord did not state so. The difficulty was that the friends inflated their imaginations beyond reason; and that when their imaginations burst asunder, they were inclined to throw away everything." The Watchtower, page 232.
1931 "There was a measure of disappointment on the part of Jehovah's faithful ones on earth concerning the years 1917, 1918, and 1925, which disappointment lasted for a time...and they also learned to quit fixing dates." Vindication, page 338.
1941 "Receiving the gift, the marching children clasped it to them, not a toy or plaything for idle pleasure, but the Lord's provided instrument for most effective work in the remaining months before Armageddon." The Watchtower, 9/15/41, page 288.
1968 "True, there have been those in times past who predicted an ‘end to the world', even announcing a specific date. Yet nothing happened. The ‘end' did not come. They were guilty of false prophesying. Why? What was missing?.. Missing from such people were God's truths and evidence that he was using and guiding them." Awake, 10/8/68.
1968 "Why are you looking forward to 1975?" The Watchtower, 8/15/68, page 494.

I tend to believe in how the Bible teaches... I don't believe in handing out brochures and classifying that as doing good work for God. You should consider doing the word of God by not judging people because everybody doesn't talk bad about them and alot of people don't understand what the religion is based on. Your religion may believe in the same content but there is more to the Bible besides the old testament... The new testament is also ment to be lived by also..... So you just have a great day... Give the trees a huge thanks for me

I'll tell you why they are a cult.A cult is any group that doesn't believe Jesus was,is ,and will always be God.He is God the second person of the Trinity.1x1x1=1 God in 3 persons. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the 1rst and the last. The beginning and the end.In Colossians I :15-19"Christ is the exact likeness of the unseen God,in fact,Christ himself IS the Creator who made everything in heaven and in earth.the things we can see and the things we can't.The spirit world with it's kings and kingdoms.....He was before all else began."
John says in John I:I "In the beginning was the Word(Jesus) and the word was with God and the Word was God"
In Luke 24,after the resurrection,Jesus says"Touch me and see that I am not a ghost, for a spirit has not Flesh and Bone like you see I have".
The JWs say Jesus rose in the spirit,I'll take Jesus' word he didn't.
The 144,000 the JWs are choking on are 144,000 Jewish believers out of the 12 tribes of Israel, not 144,000 JWs.
YOU ARE A CULT,and a non-Christian cult to boot.

Do you think that God is telling you something through other ppl that it is a cult. sorry it is. your following a decieved community. I was catholic, now i'm baptist. JW are very fine in there deception. They leave out verses from the Holy Bible of course they are not going to say it. Satan can change ppl to, he can mask himself as the light and an even a angel. i would be really following in your mums steps. I actully feel quite sad for you, literally. If there really true ask the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ to show you through prayer and lead you. And for sure ask the spirit of deception to leave if present. YOU don't want to ber decieved either way, noone does, we all seek the truth so ask Jesus to reveal which path is the truth. and don't ignore what Jesus is saying to you through prayer. Before prayer ask the spirit of deception to leave.
