when our physical self dies, the soul leaves and escapes into the universe, it lingers nearby its family till the time it feels that all is going on well after its departure from the body of the deceased, then it awaits its return in the form of a new born near GOD, where it is judged for its past karma and based upon it assigned a new body to come back to the world and spread the glory of GOD.

I agree with muffy however I would like to add that there is a state of paradise and a state of Prison for the spirits. For instance the Theif on the cross was accepted into the paradise of the spirit(luke 23:43), while christ went and taught to the spirits in prison1 Peter 3:19). The spirits will remain there until the ressurection when all will be Judged according to there works (Revelation 20:13).

To imagine that any human being can provide an answer to this question is unthinkable.

21 grams of weight leaves or bodies at the instant of death. This is perhaps the best argument for the existence of the soul.

As to my personal belief, I believe that the sun is God, for numerous reason we can debate elsewhere, and that according to Newton's first Law energy can neither be created no destroyed it only changes forms. Our souls are pure energy, this energy eventually finds it's way back to the sun, or in my belief, God.

The electricity we use is just the movement of souls - we use dinosaur bones for fuel right....

think about it this way, you are born with a soul and when you die you soul leaves you. so if you believe you have a soul than probally you believe you your soul when you were born, so when you die your soul goes back to where it was before it went into you.

If we are saved:
2 Corinthians 5:8, "that when we are absent from our bodies we are present with the lord".
At death all souls go back to God and Ezekiel 18:4 tells us who exactly "owns" our souls "All the souls--to me they belong." (God)
If you are not saved:
hell

a person soul is made up of 2 things, your physical body and your spirit, or some call the "breath of life" when you die your body returns to dust and the breath of life returns to god, he is the one who created it. When we are resurected at jesus second comming the breath of life will be given back to us so we may rise from the dead.

You should not be concerned with what I think about this subject. But, I can tell you what the word of God says: "It is appointed unto men once to die, after this the judgment."

Imo, I don't know. And as nature abhors a vacuum, so many have tried to provide answers when nobody knows, that I don't have any patience for any of them.

Even the atheists are wrong. We have no idea if we cease to exist, if there is nothing after life, or something.

We simply don't know.
