I had to have all mine done a few years ago and I was scared to death. It really wasn't bad at all, if you are having them all removed more than likely you will be out. I had more discomfort with fillings. With in a few days I had no pain at all. You'd be surprised how fast your gums heal. I'm sure they have come along ways since your mom and grandma had theirs done, so trust me you'll be fine. Good luck Jennifer.

Clinics do it everyday. If you have a good surgeon, it helps a lot, b/c you don't want slivers of teeth healing under your gums. You want a clean extraction on every tooth. I would advise you to be on anti-biotics several days before hand to prevent any infection and help the healing process. Afterwards take up to 800mg of moltrin to stop any pain, or whatever the dentist gives you. It's not that bad if you have a good surgeon!

I have had one extracted, a molar and the day after u ask...the pain starts that very day.but the doctor gives u industrial strength pain killers so u probably sleep for 2 days.By then the pain would subside.the site from which the tooth was extracted doesn't hurt but the injection sites and pressure put on the jaw for extraction hurts.just some heads up.
Good luck!~

I will need to have all my upper teeth pulled in a few days because of damage from an accident but I hope that once they are done the constant pain I now suffer will be gone.

Depends on how bad your tooth ache is.
If it's real bad...pull_em, then the pain goes away
