I'd settled on the name Samara Rocquel. Then I find out that my brother is stationed in a place with the same name while at war. Sounds trivial maybe, but when he comes home from war, I don't want him to be reminded of the horrible things that happened at war every time he hears or says her name. If, God forbid, he does not return home, then I do not want my mother to be constantly reminded of her loss when she says the name. Then to top it off, I see a movie and the evil little girl in the movie has the same name. These may sound like stupid reasons but I associate the name with these things now so I am completely against using that first name. I need suggestions for another name for a baby girl. Please keep in mind these guidlines...
African-American child, I like unusual names but not ridiculous or ghetto, something pretty. My other children's names are Kiarra, Brijona (Brianna), and Malachi. If it is a boy I have decided on Moses. Parents are Micaela and Roscoe.

Just some names : Alsaca ( Al-say-sha) this is my all time fav name. If not go to Babynames.com and it has a link where you can type in your full name and it scrambles all the letter to make up a different name. It's pretty cool. Give it a try. You caould always use someone who was close to you.

I don't blame you at all for deciding on a different name -- how thoughtful you are to spare your brother & child! So what about these names?
Asha (Hindu, African - means hope, life), Avanna (Beautiful flower) - a nickname could be Ava; , Sadiki (believe)- a nickname could be Sadi Good luck!

My daughter's name is Makenna. Kinda flows like Samara and has the M like one of your children and your name. There are lots of ways to spell it too. Good luck picking one!
