A placebo, from the Latin for "I will please", is an inactive substance (pill, liquid, etc.), which is administered as if it were a therapy, but which has no therapeutic value other than the placebo effect.

its nothing at all. you take a drug but a placebo is no drug but.... the deal is you think it is a drug. when co. test a drug they give half the real drug and half the placebo so you are thinking you are taking a drug when they are empty and you are really taking nothing
