This is dangerous territory... like potential divorce court territory here. I'd ask about counselling. Or you could make a point of talking to the husband of whatever girl he's talking to. Maybe you could do things together, like a sort of married double date. Try that some time. If he starts getting angry, just say he looked so left out without his wife to hang around with.
If he's hanging out with single women, then you should definitely start getting jealous. If you had single male friends that you can still get ahold of, you might try playing matchmaker... not because you think it would work, but because that would get the girl off of your husband, and it might give you a bit of a chance to see your old guy friend in a way that won't bee too "threatening" to your husband.
There's also a number of psycho screwed in the head tricks you can try, like actually hitting on the same women he's talking to, but those are likely to end in serious problems, such as sick rumors, undesired threesomes, fights, divorce, etc.

You should probably check your motives before acting. Its obvious that you think that something more is going on and that will probably justify your need to have a male friend to just so called talk to. Why don't you tell your husband that you feel that it is appropriate for his best friend wife to be talking with you and that you can then relay the message to him. If they have nothing to hide, then I don't see that as a problem. If he becomes defensive of your suggestion, then let him know how you feel about him getting cozy on the phone with another woman. An eye for an and a tooth for a tooth only spells TROUBLE.

Cozy is not cool for a married to get with another woman best friends wife or not. My girlfriend has a ton of guy friends, she's in the military not many females there. But we all know our place. The only one she's cozy with is me, but we also live a Christian life too, and only hang out with people with the same beliefs, married or not. It's also a respect thing. Respect for ourselves as well as respect for others in our relationships.

Did you know that affairs usually begin with a "friend" of the opposite sex? Are they alone alot? Why don't you ask the husband how he feels about the situation? If he's as concerned as you are, perhaps the two of you can have a talk with the two of them.
Your deliberately becoming friends again with a male would just further complicate matters. See how the suggestion works out first.

Male and females can't be friends, it is that simple. If he is getting "cozy" with another woman that's not friendship.
You might have male friends who you think are only your friends but it is not true, they want something from you, they do, believe it or not. I have proven that over and over. In any case if you can't have male friends then your husband shouldn't have female friends.
