how do you judge yourself overweight?
Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both adult men and women.

to calculate your BMI:
BMI = ( Weight in Kilograms / ( Height in Meters ) x ( Height in Meters ) )

BMI Categories:

* Underweight = <18.5
* Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
* Overweight = 25-29.9
* Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

to reduce your weight, besides active in physical activities, you have to watch your diet. Cut down high calories, sweet and oily food, especially fast food, junk food and gassy drink.

reduce your weight safely, reduce 0.5kg to 1 kg per week.

do not skip meal.

last but no least, discipline yourself. Have a strong determination, u can do it.

all the best ;)

Swimming will do little to help you lose weight. It's good exercise, but it's not effective for weight loss. You need to be on a program that reduces your calories and increases your metabolism. The simplest way is to count calories and only eat 1200 calories a day. Eat whatever you want, but make sure you take vitamins- One A Day is good enough. Use a treadmill, stairstepper, stationary bike, or elliptical rider 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes. Start off on the manual setting at level 1. Every three weeks boost that level by 1. Within 6 months you should be at level 8 and will have achieved whatever weight loss result you are looking for. BUT YOU HAVE TO BE CONSISTANT. Reduce your calories and increase your exercise. Swimming doesn't work because you can't effectively adjust the difficulty. So in effect, you are swimming in circles. If you don't stick to the plan, it won't work. Stick to the plan, and you'll be in the best shape of your life. Good luck!

Was there a time in your (adult) life were you in took an extremely low amount of calories per day 1000 or less? If so a study was done that revealed there is a coralation between you metabolism and have in took less than body requiremnets for sustained periods. It is thought that it is left over from evolution when humans were unable to intake adequate amounts of food. This required that the store 'reserve' energy. For you that means you need to speed up your metabolism. One way is to increase the amount of times you eat. Keep your caloric value at the prescribed level for your activity levl but increase to eating mini-meals or snacks in between breakfast and lunch also between lunch and dinner. A good snack would be 10-15 almonds. They are high in protien low in fat and require a effort by your body to digest. I hope this helps. It could also be that you have a distorted body image but, if not try thre above even if so do the above suggestion peoples bodies fuction best with 5 small meals a day anyways ; ) .

Maybe look at your diet, dont eat carbs, potatoes, noodles and bread. Veggies are great. Join a gym if possible. If your in the best shape of your life whats the problem? Some people are bigger than others. See a doc about your concerns, he might be able to put your mind and body at ease.

My advise is: GO YOUR DOCTOR and he`ll give you the plan of feeding adapted for your body. This way, you won`t be so with a complex and you don`t become crazy with the weight nor with the balance. At the most obsessive you are, worse will be.
I say you for experience about this subject. GOOD LUCK!!!

You might have some sort of medical problem where even if people eat healthy things and live active lives they are still overweight. you should go see your doctor if you try that hard and nothing significant happens.

Remeber you need to burn more calories than you consume. Also take a hard look at yourself, if you feel healthy don't worry about your weight, that's the most important factor.
