theres a girl that i really like, however she seems to be content with friends. i cant get past her, but am reluctant to tell her how i really feel because she is also the sister and friends with some of my close mates. i have known her for about a year or so, and dont want to ruin our friendship if shes not interested. how can i let her know how i feel without making a complete idiot out of myself? im fairly confident that she will want to remain as purely friends, so how can i get past her and move on?

This is a tricky situation because there is no way to ensure the friendship will not be ruined. The risk is always there and there is no way to prevent this if you want to take the next step.
What you need to do is look for the signs. Does she flirt with you? Do you flirt with her? If so, how does she respond to it? If negatively then the signs are not good. If she enjoys your flirting then you could be on to something. If you are not flirting, you must initiate flirting. Flirting is a good way two people participate in to find out whether there is anything there or not.
Also, try standing really close to her, face to face and see if she distances herself or stays there. Try touching her arm and see how she reacts. These are some of the signs to look for.

i'm not usre what ur trying to convey here, so i'll answer on both sides of the spectrum
if you want to tell her youre interested- be sweet about it. just be straitforward (without being ya know forceful about it). make the news come down smoothly, notlike a 2 ton weight.
not to do- HEY I LIKE YOU!
to do- you know i've known you for about a year, and i wanted to tell you that i care about you a lot and i have feelings for you.
not to do- do it over the phone, online, or have a frined do it for you.
to do- in private, face to face, personally and secluded.
if you want to move on- act as if you dont like her anymore. its surprising but true, if you act like you dont like her, your thoughts and your true feelings will start to cool down and change with the mental change. your mind contrls everything- renew your mind, everything else will follow.

Ask her out to a movie and see how she reacts. Don't go into feelings or anything, just see if she would be interested in spending time with you without the others around.

If you are 'fairly sure' she will just want to be friends, then why risk that? In my experience, its just best to leave a relationship like that the way it is.

have you thought of saying something to one of your close mates?one that wouldn`t say anything to the others,and he could hint around to her.i don`t think you will hurt your friendship.i think it`s neat,even if she turns you down.you can still remain friends"so cool" don`t feel like an idiot!!! we all have feelings,go for it!! hope she says yes!!!!!!

im been or in your postion buddy. well my story is i know this girl very well. i hate to love her or vice versa u kno da meaning. shes wit sumone she forgets about us( us is her friends like me others...) when im wit a female, she kinda shifts back to me and u kno da deal. da chillin,huggin, kickin it things u just do wit em. girls know that u like them. its hard i kno, but when u dont have to say nothing to know where u want to be and everybody else knows around you, u just have to do your thing. if its not like dat tell her. u gotta move on. i kno she could b your everything but she isnt. im tryin to move on too but its always sumthing dat makes u go back. takes time.... just say it slowly
