Never get a tattoo in a language you don't understand. You may be able to phonetically spell your name out in Chinese, but you do not know what it means in Chinese. You do not know what the individual characters mean in Chinese. If you still want the tattoo, enlist the help of a Chinese person who fluently reads and writes the language.

Check out my link. I tried copying and pasting but I was unable to.
I used this site to find my last name. I then took it to someone who was fluent in Chinese and had them translate it without telling them beforehand what I was hoping. When they said my last name, I got it.
My father actually got his last name back in the 60's in Hong Kong and we have the same characters, but I wanted to make sure.
Please have it translated just in case and make sure it is what you want.
