Messiah was to be born of a virgin O.T. Isaiah 7:14 - N.T. Mat 1:18-25 - Luke 1:26-38.
Messiah was to be a prophet like Moses O.T. Deut: 18:15, 18, 19. - N.T. John 7:40
Messiah was to enter Jerusalem in triumph O.T. Zec 9:9 -N.T. Mat 21-1-9 - John 12:12-16.
Messiah was to be rejected by his own people. O.T. Isaih 53:1-3 - Psalm 118-22 - N.T. Mat. 26:3-4 - John 12:37-43
Acts 4:1-12
Messiah was to be betrayed by one of his followers. O.T. Psalm 41:9 - N.T. Mat 26:24-16, 47-50 - Luke 22:19-23.
Messiah was to be tried and condemned O.T. Isaiah 53:8 - N.T. Mat 27:1-2 - Luke 2:1-25
Messiah was to die by crucifixion O.T. Psalm 22-14, 16, 17 - N.T.Mat. 27:31 - Mark 15:20-25
Messiah was to die as a sacrafice for sin O.T. Isaiah 53-5,6,8,10,11,12. - N.T. John 1:29 - 11:49-52 - Acts 10:43 - 13:38-39
Messiah was to be raised from the dead. O.T. Psalm 16:10 - Mat. 28:1-10 - Acts 2:22-32

The Bible is a VERY ACCURATE historical document. Scientific proof of a great flood, cities are being excavated and from descriptions in the Bible of their whereabouts.Battles fought and whole civilizations eliminated by Armies blessed by GOD and against great odds (Jericho comes to mind)Dogwood trees now dwarf size compared to pieces preserved in tombs that showed they were once as big as oaks(After the crusification of CHRIST all dogwoods would no longer grow tall enough or strong enough to build a cross and also the petals do have spots on them that looks like a bloody finger touched the petals)Moses, Abraham ,Father of both the Jewish and Muslim faith because of Issac and Ishmal( the whole reason the 2 faiths don't get along today is they are half brothers and and Ishmal and his mother (the handmaiden of his wife) were ran off cause after she was 90 yrs old she had a child( and was jealous of the baby he had with her handmaiden) this was an early decree in Jewish law that if your wife couldn't get pregnant you could have a baby with her handmaiden. And last but not at all the least Faith in what JESUS and the desciples said

No other book has predicted whats going on in the middle east with so much accuracy.
Israel should not exist by reason of secular logic. Even by famous historical military tacticians had stated it was impossible for Israel ever to become a nation again. In 1948 - against the most overwhelming odds -Jews fought in true Biblical fashion, being astronomically out-numbered by Arabs, Syrians and others - they fought off the enemy and claimed their land!
The historic figures I spoke of said that Bible prophecy to be accurate demanded that Israel exist. These men died of old age and never saw it.
Today - the Antichrist is waiting in his own time. The Book of Daniel, chapter 9 verse 27 has identified the wicked abominable temple as sitting on a wing of the Temple. The Muslim Dome of the Rock mosque sits there as testimony that God's word does not come back void. FROM THAT TEMPLE (the abominable temple - the mosque) comes one who causes desolations... THE ANTICHRIST!
Half that prophecy is fulfilled with the presence of the Muslim Mosque sitting on a wing of the Temple Mount (former site of Solomon's Temple - the foundations remain.
MORE prophecy is being fulfilled and has been fulfilled. Again - the events going on in the middle east as per Bible Prophecy make it VERY hard to ignore.
GNOSTIC GOSPELS ARE GOSPELS WRITTEN BY SUBVERSIVES WHO NEVER KNEW JESUS.., and attributed to Judas and others who did know Jesus. Those Gnostic works were written about 200 years or more after the fact. Forgeries. The Gospel of Judas and that of Thomas are such examples of satan's lying works to infiltrate and confuse the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Apostle Paul warned about men who subvert the Gospel even in his day.

I think that I can help you. I used to think that the Bible was a fairy tale. When we were in Jerusalem we went to the Israeli Museum. In the Museum was a seperate complex called The Shrine of The Book, It is a special structure that houses some of the famous Dead Sea Scrolls. If you don't know what they are please ask your minister. These scrolls were carbon dated so we know that they were written in the time of the Bible or shortly after. I believe the dcroll which I paid attention to was that of the prophet Jeremiah. Inthis special encasement was the scroll and 3 Bibles. One was written in English, and in Hebrew and Arabic. Nex ti each Bible was the translation which was done by Noted Bibical scholars and the English translation which was the only one that I could read was word for word as it was written in the Bible, I changed my belief regarding the Bible on the spot and hope it helps you. God bless you

The Bible is the truth because it is the Word of God. If you don't believe in God, then you don't believe the Bible is truth. If you do believe in God, then you do believe it to be true. The scrolls didn't just come from out of nowhere. The books in the Bible are real. Whatever you decide to use in your sermon, I hope and pray that God leads you to the answer you're looking for.

I shall try to answer this to the best of my ability, and also include a brief answer to your query about the Gnostic Gospels.
There are more than one way to perceive or hold the Bible as truth. One is that it proclaims to be the Word of God. God has inspired men to write His revealed Word to humanity.
The American Heritage Dictionary defines the following process:
ex·e·ge·sis (Äk'sÉ-jÄ'sÄs)
n., pl. -ses (-sÄz).
Critical explanation or analysis, especially of a text.
[Greek exÄgÄsis, from exÄgeisthai, to interpret : ex-, ex- + hÄgeisthai, to lead.]
The other is rational. You read and perceive what is truthful in the Scripture. The problem with this is that some of the Bible must be taken on faith, for there is some, or much, depending on your point of view, that defies reason or begs explanation, such as Jonah being swallowed by a whale, or Methusaleh being so many years old (or so many moons, as some claim).
Another rational or "logical" approach is to verify what has been told in Scripture by archaeology and historical records. Much of the Bible, Old and New Testaments, has been corroborated by archaeological digs, records such as the writings of Josephus and Herodotus. The problem with this method is that some archaeologists may colour their findings with religious-inspired interpretations, overlooking things which do not "jive" with the Scriptural accounts of what happened.
There is a third way, which is to comprehend the truth through the discernment given as a gift by the Holy Spirit. This is akin to intuition, or an heuristic comprehension of the Bible.
The Gnostic Gospels are early mystic writings about the life of Jesus. Yes, many of us may be missing out on some writing about the life and teachings of Jesus. Therefore it is incumbent on us to investigate. Also, the Dead Sea Scrolls are another recently recovered set of documents which may shed light on Judeao-Christian scripture.
I think there is much more to this matter than just getting or asking for faith, or merely believing God is, or even that the Bible is God's truth given unto us. The Christian must use the reasoning faculties given him or her by God. To discount reason in favour of faith is to neglect the use of a talent God gave us, our human intelligence.
In my experience, a rational examination of Holy Scripture actually strengthens faith. Think too, doesn't every scientist have FAITH in his own reasoning? So I thank you for your thoughtful query, and wish you all the best.

Well, firstly, you really need to answer this one through your heart.
But did you also realize that a guy called Denis Towers [I am privy to this advanced information] is having a book published through Zulon Press in the New Year that apparently Scientifically disproves evolution at one hand, and Proves, for the first time ever - the Biblical account of Adam and Eve on the other??
It's to be named:
"TWO BIRDS ... ONE STONE"!!
I'll be keeping MY eyes out for it!!!
Could be the greatest Breakthrough in history!!!!!

The Bible can be trusted. The New Testament was written according to the testimony of men who were martyred for what they believed. You do not give up your life for something that isn't true.
