I am dreading even thinking about having to paint my bathroom. I have to wash the walls. Make up a mixture to cover the nail holes, let it dry, and smooth it over. Then paint. My bathroom is small. Lots of little nooks and crannies to paint. I also have to get painting tape and cover certain areas I don't want to paint.
UGH!!!!. HELLLLLLP ME!

One word for you, friend. BEADBOARD! Also known as wainscoating. It's the latest trend in doing bathrooms and other rooms in the home. My bathroom has beadboard about 3/4 up the wall. Then the top portion is painted. I learned from the previous homeowners that they chose beadboard because there was tile on the wall, and holes from towel bars, etc. Anyway, if you're a little skillfull with a circular saw, you can install the board with simple measurements and cuts. You can use liquid nails versus having to nail the board to the wall and then cover the holes with spackle, sand and paint. Some beadboard comes already primed while others are pine and need priming and paint. This may not be a style you're looking for, but it will definitely hide your crappy walls! Well, most of them anyway.

Can you get the little tubes of caulk that dry in a very short time and practically match the original paint?

I just did that in a bedroom, and then you COULD ragroll over the original (present) color, or us a feather dipped in a new color and just kind of sweep it on lightly.

Both make a real fresh design, and you aren't painting the whole room.

Good luck!

Yes, we know, it sucks, but there's nothing any of us can do unless you get lucky and find some weirdo who's gonna come do it for you, or better yet give you the money to pay a professional, but just bite the bullet and just commit to the effort--you clearly know what needs to be done-and you'll be glad you did it, so now get off the damn computer, stop feeling sorry for yourself and get to work!!!
