First of all, chewing gum and nicotine replacement don't work as well as an herbal substitute.

Find an herbal substitute you like and use it religiously! I prefer Hooch Snuff because it is the most similar in feel to tobacco. You can get at http://www.hoochsnuff.com/. You can also find herbal snuff rankings at http://www.herbalsnuff.net/.

You make a choice every time you put tobacco in your mouth, make the choice not to do it any more. then change your patterns, when you used to do it, like in the car or after work, do something else. Get some sugarless gum, or nicorette gum, carry lots of sugarless gum candy, chew on a pencil, toothpiks, something that will entertain your mouth. You sure dont want to lose your jawbone and most of your face to cancer, so be strong, know that you are stronger than the tobacco company advertising and you no longer need that habit, that you are in control of "you"

Treat the tobacco as an addiction, which is what it is. You have basically three choices: one, go to a nicotine addiction program though your hospital. Two, attend N.A., Narcotics Anonymous, and use the 12 Steps on this. Three, use a faith-based counseling and healing approach.

You might combine all three. You are going to need discipline, consistency, and faith. You might plan out a chart, whereby you cut back gradually. Or you might try cold turkey. Any way you look at it, you're going to have to really WANT to quit, and get lots of support, and stay away from people who dip or smoke, as much as possible.

I wish you well. Have courage and patience. You can do this.

I smoke for 20 years and I quit, you just have to be sure about leaving the bad habit, that's all, you are going to feel some head ache for a while because of the lack of nicotine drink some acetaminophen and that's all. Get the confidence and leave the habit.

i'm surprised you have teeth!!! from 3????? geeze.

well, you can use dental wax, chew on that or put it in your gums. or you can use a piece of cotton. just something that will make you salavate. you can try that big leage chew gum, its made to look like chewing tabacco, but you dont really need all the sugar. i would just start weaning yourself off of it.
