does it have a rubber gas tank filler hose? or damage to the gas tank filler tube? are the other hoses connected to the gas tank tightly connected? you've got an air leak some where. in a good system, when the gas cap is on, the system is air tight

A friend of mine worked in Connersville Ind and made your gas cap(Stants) To properly reinstall a gas cap when you put it back on tighten it till ya hear3 clicks on it then its right. If that doesn't work buy new gas cap and tighten just the way I said. Your onboard computer should reset the trouble lite AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR

The PCM is sensing an EVAP leak, also just because the fuel cap looks ok, does not make it so, it could still not be sealing properly. An Evap test at the local dealer will pump smoke into the Evap system, this is what needs to be done to pinpoint the leak.

Most likely yo uhave a leak in yor take above the fule line. There is a sensor in the tank that determines the air pressure inside. This air pressure (positive or nagative) is not readong correctly. therefor you ware losing pressure somewhere else. Check for fuel leak. Failing that have a reputable garage check it out. It's important that the pressure in your tank is correct or your fuel consumption will go through the roof
