Most dogs get excited and pant. My Norwich pants just for the fun of it a lot of the time. Unless her breathing seems distressed it is nothing to worry about. Panting actually serves a dual purpose of cooling dogs and triggering a brain chemical that is a natural stress reliever. It is similar to the feeling people get when yawning or chewing gum, a slight relaxation. In stressful or exciting situations, panting kicks in.

No. I had a cat who panted during exercise. He was OK til he was 11 yrs old. Turned out to be a heart condition. He died when he was 11.
I would suggest that you take your dog to a vet to determine what the problem is.

yes, this is perfectly normal. I have a Yorkie, and we think he is smiling haha, but he is just excited.
