I have been wondering about this alot! According to Islamic faith, pigs were originally human beings from a jewish family and when they disobeyed god commandment god turned them into pigs. one scientific proof is the medical records that indicate pigs have similar organisims to humans. alot of people in north america are obese! why? because they eat pigs? pigs are greedy have been characterized as greedy animals. and also pigs are high in saturated fat. pigs appearance is ugly and fat and obese people possess the same characterstics. do you agree?

Barbecued or not.
My wife and I refuse to eat pig because they are the bottom of that particular food chain. Ditto shellfish - think of what reaches the bottom.

Pigs were a controvercial animal in early Middle Eastern societies.
Pork was shunned in early bible history, possibly because many people got sick from eating it.
The biblical Jews were forbidden from eating pork.
Also, visiting prostitutes and having many sex partners was discouraged. In our society, we haven't learned much.

They don't eat pork because people were dying of trichinosis in the days before refrigeration and proper preservation. It's just a relic from the past.

islam never said that at all. you are either misinformed or are anti semitic. if the jewish religion is older than islam, and jews, being kosher, do not eat pork, and muslims do not eat pork and their dietary laws are the same as jews, then why would you even say that, unless you don't like jews or are misinformed. my wife is islamic and i am a jew, and we don't have your problem
