There is a lot of false information on this topic. It depends on your lifestyle to how you eat. I eat mainly at night because I am a night worker and yes I eat before I go to bed..........however what I eat at that time is very light. Heavy meals are eaten before I go into work so I can work off any fat cells. I am basically considered a average weight person. Any extra weight is usually if I have allowed myself to have extra snacks for a few weeks in a roll. I think it totally depends on the individual's body. I can drink and eat things before I go to bed that keeps most people awake or having nightmares. Hope this helps.

No, it wont make you fat at all.... Eating before you go to bed isnt necessarily bad for you, though you do need to eat things that are easily digestable by your body, like a peice of fruit or something...eating a big peice of steak is something that shouldnt be eaten at this time especially, as your body finds it hard to process... your body takes into account all of the things that you have eaten throughout the whole day, not just what you eat before you go to bed, Your body digests it like normal... though whilst you are asleep there is that 1/3rd calory thing that others talked about... though another thing is probably not to eat something that will give you alot of energy and extra calories...as i said just something light.

amy is wrong wrong wrong. You do in fact burn calories while you sleep. Doesn't it take energy to breathe? Duh.
Anyway, there is conflicting research out there about this. I'd say just be careful not to make a habit of night time eating but every once in a while isn't going to hurt you.

I don't think it's wrong. I do it all the time and it doesnt make me fat. I guess it's just the fact that midnight snacking is on top of all the meals you had in the day. So it's not exactly necessary.

What do you do after eating at night? Sleep.
While sleeping, you burn about one third of the calories you would while awake. That's why it's best not to eat too much food or any junk at all after dinner.

It depends on what you eat. If it doesnt contain carbs/calories then your okay. Unused energy gets stored by you body as adipose tissue so, if it has caloric value it will be stored so yeah its bad then.

You don't burn calories when you sleep, so anything you eat before bed just sits in your stomache & yes, it makes you gain weight if you do it all the time.
