Ok, it depends on what time of the month he went in AND when he was Inprocessed through Finance on if he will get a check the 1st or 15th....don't fret, he WILL get all monies due him. Also, if the 1st/15th falls on a weekend OR American Holiday, that will change the date you get paid. For example, this past payday fell on a Sunday, and the pay hit the Account on the Friday PRIOR to the actual payday. If, by chance, payday falls on a Holiday, you will get paid the day prior to the Holiday UNLESS that falls on a weekend...then it will be the Friday prior.

He should have done a Direct Deposit to your Banking place....if so, and you have access to that Account, then you can call them to find out if there is anything pending for Deposit from DFAS. Yes, you were told correct about the POA....as soon as you can, have him/you an Appt with JAG to get ALL sorts of POA's... you WILL need to have the General as well as Special POA's. JAG will be able to assist you in this, and it is FREE.

Go to the Link provided and see if your DH has a mypay account set up....if not, see if you can do it yourself. I can't remember if my DH did it or if I did, it was 4 yrs ago for us. Also, mypay allows for you to save and print out the LES, not only the current one, but the months prior. It is best to save the whole month's LES to CD...then you will have it for future. You will need a copy for when your DH wants to take Leave, as he will have to submit a copy with the Leave Request to prove he has the requested days available....

Good Luck!
Current Military Spouse....HOOAH!

ps...feel free to email me if you have anymore questions or problems with this...

The first answer is totally eroneous. I am in the army, and I remember it taking almost a full pay period (15 days) for our first paycheck to hit our checking accounts. I'm not sure what the payline is that you called, but I would try www.militaryonesource.com. This is a Department of Defense website with lots of helpful information and a 24 hour phone number you can call toll free.

What you also can do is start logging into your husbands mypay. https://mypay.dfas.mil/mypay.aspx This will have his leave and earnings statement that lays out how much he will be paid, and how much is taken out from taxes. The folks at militaryonesource will be able to help you out with how to get a login.

Your husband will be paid from the day that he shipped to basic training. Even if this comes a little late he will get the backpay. If you are experiencing a financial hardship the people at military one source can talk to you about getting some of his pay early.

Finally, another source to go to (if he is national guard or reserve) is his unit. If he already has a unit you can call his platoon sergeant and he or she should be able to straigten everything out.

Technically speaking, pay day is the 15th and 1st, for the previous two weeks. When first entering militray service, it can take 6-8 weeks before the first paycheck hits the account.

Your spouse will have to set you up..at his end.. with a view only account on Mypay. all LESs are available only online now, no longer do you get a hard copy. you cannot do anything.

Learn our language, please...especially if your husband is serving in the military. At least, use spell check before sending. To answer your question, they get paid on the first and fifteenth of the month. It goes directly into a pre-determined checking account. Your husband must have provided them with bank routing numbers, etc so they know where to directly deposit the money. Good luck to your husband.

during basic the pay all goes to living expenses of basic they dont start seeing pay til the go to school or to their first command. it would be the first and 15th and your hubby needs to get you a special power of attorney with the checking account info on it.
