the little guy has to work sooo hard at everything.. keeping up with feet that could step on him, running to catch up with everyone... they are truly an excitable dog and the most adorable

your yorkie might be too old to run a lot.your yorkie might be fat like my dog is so it is hard for it to run..Or your yorkie might have an illnes because some dogs get sick and can't run very much and pant a lot....i am no vet but i cantell you from experience...

It is the way dogs release body heat, much like our sweating.
Fur obvious reasons, fur does not furnish such a mechanism.

It shouldn't pant that much call your vet. They only reason i can think of it is scared about something.
