Just remember no pain no gain! Okay well the headgear consists of two parts, the part that goes on your head, and the part that goes in your mouth. The mouth part is sort of shaped like a small "U" that fits in your mouth (you push it into metal loops that will be placed on your back molars). This part also has a metal "U" that's big and goes around your face, almost till before your ears. At the ends of this piece you attach the head piece with almost hooks through the head piece.
It might hurt a little at the beginning, you'll feel pressure on your teeth, but an over the counter pain reliever will make you feel better and in a week it won't bother anymore, just like when you first put on your braces.

Good luck!
