I need to take my radar gun for a baseball tryout to puerto rico. I already have two large bags to check so I need to carry it on. Does anyone know if there are any restrictions? It is electronic and requires batteries.

Yes you can carry it...try to check in the batteries-if they are detachable.
Also, don't call the speed "guns"...just call it by some other name! :)
Most of the security guys are already freaked out...so dont test their vocabulary!

As long as it can fit inside a carry-on bag and is completely turned off during flight, I can't imagine it would be an issue. It's not a gun, really. Check out the TSA website to see if it's listed as prohibited, but I don't believe there would be any reason to not allow it.

Check the manual for any restrictions regarding x-rays. Call the customer service # and ask. If no manual is available do a Google search of the manufacturer. You should be able to get an 800# to call.

You need to check with the airline you're flying with regarding the carriage of the batteries.
