Cartoon dogs. Although I always wondered the difference between Pluto and Goofy. They are both dogs, but Goofy can talk and drive a car. Pluto just barks and follows Mickey and Minnie around.

Disney A-Z says
'The dog who would eventually evolve into Pluto made his debut as a bloodhound in the Mickey Mouse cartoon 'The Chain Gang' in 1930. Later that year he appeared as Minnie Mouse's dog, Rover, in 'The Picnic,' and the following year finally became Mickey's dog Pluto in 'The Moose Hunt'.'
Regarding Goofy, it seems in his Bio at Disney.com they never state what breed he is.

Goofy is how we would all want our dogs to be if they could talk.

Kinda reminds me of bloodhound...
Fluffy ears and square face skull fits the general description. If you want to see what a bloodhound looks like, simply google it. you may find some resemblance.

I think they are both more towards the "hound" group of breed then anything else. I would say that because of their signature long, floppy ears that they have.
