Is it reasonable to assume that all Christians are homophobes if they think the bible is truth? Since gays are born with natural attraction to the same sex, is the only way a gay can win god's love is to be celibate? Is lesbianism wrong as well? It seems like only gay men are condemned in the bible.

I am a christian and I am not a homophobe. Yes, I believe the Bible to be completely true, every tit and tiddle of it is true. My wife has a cousin that is gay and I have no malice toward him. I have no malice toward any gay unless they begin to push it down my throat, then and only then will i say something. What most gays misunderstand is it is the sin they do namely homosexuality that christians hate, not the person. Lesbianism is basically the same as homosexuality only it is women doin it, so they just gave it a different name. Let me stress that again I don't hate the person it is the sin of homosexuality that I don't like. Gay people are not born with a natural attraction to be gay, it is sinful desires of their heart tricking them. If those that practice homosexuality do not turn form it then, like the Bible says, they will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven(1 Cor 6:9). In the Bible the work repent it translated from the greek word "Metanoeite" which literally means "To repent; to turn from one’s sins; to change; to turn; to change one’s mind; to turn one’s life around". If anyone who is homosexual will turn from it give their life to Christ , be baptized for the remission of sin(Acts 2:38) then they will inherit the kingdom of Heaven. Becoming a non pracitcing homosexual would be a good place to start for someone who wishes to turn to God. A practicing homosexual shall not inherit it. The verses below are a good example of God not putting up with homosexuality.

Part of the reason men are mentioned most of the time is because at that time men were head of the house, and did all the dealings with others, and was always the one to speak first. But women are mentioned sometimes as in the verses below. Below is a link you might want to look at, it has articles dealing with homosexuality.

Romans 1:18-27 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, [19] since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. [20] For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. [21] For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. [22] Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools [23] and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. [24] Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. [25] They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen. [26] Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. [27] In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion

Hope this helps you to understand better.

God Bless,

Chris

godhatestheists,
"Is it bigoted to think gays are going to hell?"
I think not. I'm a Bisexual Christian. I know that trusting God will get me into heaven. Not living some sort of perfect life.

"Is it reasonable to assume that all Christians are homophobes if they think the bible is truth?"
I believe that the Bible is true. And I'm not a homophobe.

"Since gays are born with natural attraction to the same sex, is the only way a gay can win god's love is to be celibate?"
I think tht question really is, if you are Gay, can you love God?

"Is lesbianism wrong as well?"
Yes. And so is eating shellfish. In the Old Testament, it's an abomination. But I'm not Christian because I can keep the Law of Moses. That's why Jesus came to earth, because He fulfilled the Law so that I wouldn't have to. I can trust Him, and that is counted as righteousness. God does not expect me to follow the Law, but only to trust Him. So that's why it is said, "We are set free by the blood of Jesus."

"It seems like only gay men are condemned in the bible."
The only people condemned in the Bible are those that don't trust Him. And that don't value the things of God.

Doesn't that sound like a more reasonable thing?

I can be celibate - and have been - but I'm still gay. Having sex or not having sex does not change who you are attracted to.

The folks that tend to speak out most about gays are divorced "born again" Christians. Funny how they *never* speak about how much the bible discusses how bad divorce is.

The bible is a tool... and was translated by bigoted men who also thought poorly of women. It's like putting all your belief in the Target circular... Target is only selling what Target wants to sell.

Whether or now not one believes in a heaven and/or hell, I agree wholeheratedly that a homophobic perspective (and the entire matters that involves) is incorrect, even by way of biblical requisites, that anger and frustrations toward homosexuality must be performed away with, and that homosexual guys and ladies in loving dedicated relationships aren't any worse than someone else and must now not be regarded "now not well" Christians. In the bible Jesus was once ultimate so of direction he don't have had a phobia of homosexuality! And so much of Christianity is approximately being a well Christian by way of modeling oneself after the superb perfection of Jesus, so if persons have been relatively vested in real fitting the first-class Christian variation of themselves they are able to probably be, they could attempt to eliminate homophobic perspectives and attitudes in themselves, others and the church. I feel you hit the nail at the head, despite the fact that might be telling persons they'll hell for now not liking gays is the opposite part of the equal coin that's telling persons they'll hell for being or liking gays. I not remember myself a Christian, however I feel The international demands extra Christians such as you who're inclined to rise up to the faith's homophobic dogma.

The people in lots day were all perverted...men ..women..children..they were perverse and homosexual..and even did beastiality. God said they were condemned. So he put them to sleep in death. They had a chance to change and refused. When the bible says men who lie with me will not inherit the kingdom of God this also includes women. If God hates them it is your duty to hate them. For we are all Gods children and if we want the love of the father we will not side against him for he is the creator of life . Our lives are in his hands. We must have a healthy fear of displeasing him.

Also if the whole world is homosexual then Gods purpose of filling the earth will not happen. Since two men cannot reproduce and two women cannot reproduce. God put it into their make up to be ashamed of what they do. It is not ever going to be accepted.

It has never been proven that gays are born with attraction to the same sex.

I am hoping that most gays will repent before they leave this Earth. I pray for their souls rather than think about them going to hell.

odd how few christians acknowledge the fact that David had an affair with Johnathon and they still both were blessed by god--they don't accept that part of the bible as being the truth

Lesbians are mentioned, but in a sliding fashion, much like people who commit suicide.

But it is the act that is an "abomination", not the person

THE BIBLE IS VERY CLEAR ON THIS ISSUE, THIS IS A SIN. GOD HATES SIN , BUT LOVES THE SINNER. HE LOVES YOU SO MUCH HE SENT HIS ONLY SON TO DIE FOR ALL OF OUR SINS. IF SOMEONE IS INVOLVED IN THIS SIN , IT IS BY THIER OWN FREE WILL, NO ONE IS BORN GAY AS THE WORLD VIEW WOULD HAVE US BELIEVE. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT HAS BEEN ALLOWED, GOD HAS GIVING US ALL A FREE WILL, TO MAKE OUR OWN DECISIONS. WE HAVE ALL SINNED AND FALLEN SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD, BUT HE HAS MADE A WAY , THROUGH HIS SON JESUS CHRIST. TURN FROM THE SIN IN YOUR LIFE, REPENT OF THE FOUL THINGS YOU HAVE ALLOWED, AND ASK JESUS TO ENTER INTO YOUR HEART, AND SIN NO MORE. TRUST ME IT WORKS.
