I just got a yamaha powered center speaker. It has an RCA (one) input on the back (along with a power cord), but nothing else. How would I go about hooking it up to my amp that has a positive/negative two-wire connection for the center speaker?

That speaker is designed to receive "line level" signals from your receiver. Does your amp have "preamp outputs" for external amplification? If so, then use that. Do not try to wire the speaker outputs from your amp to the RCA jack of the speaker. Depending on how the output circuit of your amp is configured, you could damage either the amp, speaker or both. (Some speaker outputs do not expect either side to be grounded, and the RCA input is grounded on the outer shell.) Even if that worked, the volume level may not be enough, or it may be too high. You have to find a line-level signal for the speaker. Does the speaker have any way you can bypass its built-in amp?

If your signals come from a DVD player with a Dolby Decoder built-in, you can use the center channel signal from that for your speaker.

If you need more help, post another question giving the make and model of your amp and your speaker.

If there are no RCA plugs on the TV, an adapter (from Radio Shack, for example) can be purchased that has input for your RCA plugs, and an output set of wires that can be attached to the speaker wire screws on the back of the TV.

Check your owners manual!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You need a digital cable connection for sound either a optical or coaxial.
