since 99 percent of the military are conservatives and since these 'fellow citizens' would most likely be protestors making them liberals i would have to say, yes, mow the commie bastards down. and we should start with you

It was determined both at Andersonville and at Nuremberg that a soldier is answerable, above all else, to his own conscience. I spent 20 years in the U.S. military, and I never hesitated to say that I would refuse to obey any order I considered wrong. True loyalty to our country means being true to our own core values, not letting someone else decide them for us. Just for the record, following "God" was the reason for the Crusades, the Salem Witch Trials, and the Holocaust, all supported by the Christian churches of their day.

"uphold the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic." the people at Kent state were not enemies in this sense, and what they did was wrong. if you are asking a member of the military if a us citizen was an enemy? if so, i think they would. but this does not mean a demonstrator, but someone who rises to the level of an enemy. we are smart enough, as well as our military leaders, to know the difference. so the day you decide to take up arms against the us government, or any soverign us state, you become the enemy.

Marshall law is only declared in a state of riotous, dangerous mass behavior. If that were to be the case, it means a bunch of idiots have stirred the pot, adding vinegar to the brew instead of honey. If you want to evoke change do it in a civilized manner, then there is no need for the institution of Marshall law.

That's a funny question. A soldier is required by law to question and to disobey a questionably unethical order, or a downright illegal order like what you are suggesting. Now my question to you is, are you talking about Americans that are minding their own business, or people like Jihad Johnny Walker who take sides with the Taliban and try to hurt Americans?

IF I FELT THIS WAS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE MAJORITY AS IN THE NEEDS OF MANY OUT WAY THE NEEDS OF THE FEW YES I WOULD! IF BILL CLINTON WAS THE PRESIDENT AND DID THIS YES I WOULD! I FEEL THAT TO MANY WOULD BE SYMPATHIZERS WITH THE ENEMY,YES I WOULD! AND THIS IS A HYPOTHETICAL OF COARSE AND WOULD DEPEND ONLY TO WHAT THE MARSHAL LAW WAS ABOUT! IF I SAW LOOTING OTHER THAN FOOD ,YES I WOULD! BUT AS TO KENT STATE IT WAS A PROTEST AND NOT A CRIME SO NO I WOULDN'T!

Martial Law? In the US? It could happen.

There are legal orders and illegal orders. Personally I would not fire indiscriminately. That means I would definitely fire discriminately. I would profile the protesters and shoot according to my biases.

Awe, I'm just kidding.... Go smoke some crack and have a great night...

Why in the World would the president need to declare "Martial law"??

I think your paranoid fantasies have gotten the better of you, dear.

Ask the nice doctor to adjust your dosages, and try to feel better.

"Bush declares 'Martial Law'".

This isn't Poland in the 70s and 80s.
