I have two suggestions. I got an implement a few years ago that is called a "shedding blade". It is kind of oval in shape and has serrated teeth on a metal ring. It is meant for grooming a long haired dog with an undercoat. About twice a year, I start at one end of my living room and work my way through the house with this on the rugs. I just pull it over the carpet, and it pulls up any hair the vacuum cleaner left behind.

There is something much less bothersome that does a good job in a hurry. It's called a Pet Hair Pickup. They are available in most grocery store pet aisles and in all pet stores. It is a roll of paper that is sticky on one side. You roll it over the place you want to clean the hair from, and tear off to a new sheet when one is full. I couldn't live without them.

Use a squeegie on it like a broom but pull it towards you. Use the rubberside with quick short pulls. If that doesnt work try putting on a pair of rubber soled tennis shoes and drag the rubber across it and that will pull up the hair also . I have dogs that shed terribly and these 2 ideas i use everyday befor I vaccuum so the hair does not ruin my vaccuum.

PetFresh with Pet Hair Release. Works very well. Just apply it to the rug, wait fifteen minutes, and vacuum. If that doesn't work, take it to a dry cleaner.

Try rubbing it with rubber gloves on ( playtex dishwashing type); buy a hair removal brush from a pet supply store or Wal Mart, they have soft rubber bristles that work really well. Try using a clothes lint roller.

Good luck.

Forget the vacuum cleaner....useless!
Unfortunately, you need elbow grease.
Either a brush with hard bristles, or one of those things they sell in the pet store, looks like a window sqeechie(?) with hard rubber.
