Why is circumcision still routinely performed on 90% of baby boys in America???? They claim that it reduces urine tract infections. In European countries, most boys arnt circumcised and they do not have a higher instance of UTI's than American boys do. Then they say it reduces your chances of getting an STD. Once again European men do not have a higher instance of STD's than American men do. Finally they claim it lowers your chances of getting penile cancer which it doesnt. It does however lower sensitivity by 50% and when the procedure goes wrong its catastrophic to the boy. Why cant women accept men's bodies the way they are. How would women like it if we started routinly removing womens clitoral hoods like they do in Africa.

im not blaming women but since women have the baby, ultimatly they are the ones who are responcible for it happening. If the man wants it done it doesnt matter because the women has the right to say no.

Actually I left the decision up to my husband and he chose to have our son circumcised. So don't blame women for it. It's not always their choice.

P.S. Excuse me, but it is the father's child, also. It takes TWO people to make a baby, and each is EQUALLY responsible for the child. The father has a right to have a say in the decision. You say you're not trying to blame women but then in the next sentence you say they should prevent circumcision from being done. That sounds like blaming to me.

It's yet another -->Easier & Lazier for others but Negative for the Child<-- Like Retilin,.. it's not a Benefit to the Child,... But I won't get into that ( Higher Suicide, Higher Attempts do to reduced, impaired or destroyed sensations to prevent one from doing that to themselves) *coughs* Since everyone needs to pretend it's better for the Child to feel better.

It makes it Easier for the Parents and people that change their Diapers and it makes them feel Comforted that they will some how be immune from all illness and disease.

Now for what you added,.. NO it is not the Mother's choice. It is whoever says to do it. The Father might say so or the staff might talk the mother or father into it while they are dazed or half unconicious (even asleep... or they will start up and say " Well this is what EVERYONE picks and we are already prepared/started so better finish it now, NO GOING BACK,.. yep,.. your a good parent for doing this")

Another problem is when people are born Abnormal in Gender,.. it is hard to tell if they are Male, Female or Both Genders for THEIR good Operations are done that scar them and open them up to infections,.. even going septic since their body can not properly dispose of waste. So it's like nearly killing them to make them how some Doctor or Nurse feels like they should be and talks their trumatized (by Doctors and Nurses and Surgents babbleing to them about how their going to go through hell and be killed by their peers and other lies) Parents into this stuff...

Fighting in reality has been makeing it hard to think for a couple paragraphs >.<

We chose not to have our son circumcised. It was a joint decision, not just the mom!
But I have to disagree with your stats...It's only slightly above 50% these days, in 2003 it was 55.9% circumcised
People are becoming more educated on the topic, and have learned that there really is no reason to circumcise other than because of a personal religous reason.

It's simply part of American culture purely based on BS religion. It all stems from religion claiming to make boys "clean." Even to this day, I hear men (falsely) argue it's for health reasons, but it's simply not true.

If you cut off a girl's labia, it's genital mutilation. When you cut off a boy's foreskin, it's circumcision. What pure hypocrisy and it should end.

Cut is safer, especially in underdevoped countries. If the foreskin is normal, and works properly everything is fine. BUT, if it doesn't and you don't have proper health care, or your personal hygiene isn't what it should be, then there can be serious problems, including death in some very extreme cases.
I doubt your statistics, as well. Please cite your sources, it would be interesting to read, and see who published them.
