I've never been tattooed, but I'm a 62 year old lady. Still, when I see these young men and women sporting these colorful pictures on various parts of their anatomy, I have to giggle when I think of how it will look when they get old and gravity takes over with their bodies. Can you imagine what that rose or eagle will look like when the flesh begins to sag?

As the others have said - no, don't pick it. A tattoo is an open wound, so many people forget this, and an open wound is a breeding ground for bacteria. Your aftercare instructions are not just for the quality of the tattoo, but for your own safety. Go to a GOOD tattooist to get the line redone, and you will get what you want, and learn from this mistake.

I love my tattoo, and will love the next couple I have planned. It's my body, and if you don't want to see my tattoos, don't look at it, period. Looking at me, you would never know unless I showed them to you.

Oh, and to those that mention if a person would show them to their grandparents? Yes, I would. On my twentieth birthday, I went and got a tattoo, and my 64 year old grandfather got a memorial tattoo for my grandmother on the same day.

If you don't have any... why are you worried about them. Who cares what other people do, just because someone has a tattoo doesnt mean they suck. Tattooing is an art form, a form of self-expression for some. For others it's a way of "scrapbooking" their life, including memorials for loved ones. Most people know what they are getting into when they get a tattoo. If you don't want one.. don't get one, but you're wasting your time asking silly questions like this.

1) if you don't like tattoos, why are you here?

2) no one said that you had to get one

3) for the people that get them, they have deeper personal meanings.

take mine: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/34305656/

the wings mean personal freedom, and freedom of ideas in general. They are cute like I supposedly am, but don't like to be. They represent all the things that are good in the world, and the hope for a better place. Mine was not just a random scribble, I spent at least 4 years considering this design.

give me a thumbs down if you wish, but I'm just telling you what tattoos can mean.

if you don't have one, you can't understand the pain while it happens, or the immense pride that you have when it's done.

I'm not into them, but hey, it's a free country. To each his own. But this "I'm a tattooed badass" attitude so many tattooed people sport is unbearable. Some people into tattoos are great folks, but they need to talk to thier badass counterparts. Gives them all a bad rep. I don't see tattoos on Chuck Norris, but you all know Chuck IS a BADASS.

I have a tattoo. But, I can appreciate the reasons that people wouldn't want them. If everybody liked the same thing wouldn't this world be a boring place?

I never wanted to get a tattoo but three days after my 37th birthday I got a small tattoo on my right breast. It is a bright yellow smiley face with it's tongue sticking out. I LOVE it!

I'll see a beautiful young woman with great skin and then as she passes by, I'll notice she has a tattoo and my whole opinion changes to "Yuck!" A tattoo does not enhance a body, and the colors used are ugly - the colors of bruises. I agree with the people above who say that as you age, tattoos will start to sag and become even worse eyesores. Maybe we should change the name to sagoo instead of tattoo.

And that is your opinion. I don't have any either but I think when they are done right they can look pretty good. Its when someone places them all over their body I start to go yuck!
