No. It never goes bad. Ever. The flouride will never break down and as for the flavor, it might be diminished a little after a long time but it won't hurt you.

YES... It has an expiration date, at the end of the tube.
YES... It goes bad eventually. Ususally, once the consistancy isnt smooth and creamy anymore, we (our office) will tell patients definitely stop using it. The paste at this point is basically not providing protection at all for the teeth anymore.

Using expirated toothpaste is NOT toxic and wont hurt. All that happens is the Fluoride and other ingredients arent up to thier full strength, and wont act at full strength fighting against the bacterias of the mouth and cant fight the decay process to its full potential. *Basically, its like an antibotic... within their expiration date the medication is at its full potency and can fight against germs with full strength. Once it has expired, its potency has decreased, there fore it cant fight at its full potential. It wont hurt you, but it cant do its job to the fullest.

THE ANSWER IS NO. IF THE TP HAS FLUORIDE IT MAY LOSE IT'S POTENCY AFTER SOME TIME.THE EXPIRATION ON THE TUBE IS TO GET YOU TO BUY MORE.

No but replace it every so often because it wont be doing the job
