If she's shy, it might be a better idea to listen to her when she says she just wants to be friends. I used to be that way, and even when I liked a guy, if he pushed it with me, I would become terrified and run for the hills. Once that happened, there was no way to win me back. Be her friend. The more she gets to know you, and the more comfortable she is with you, the more she'll let her guard down over time. Once she lets you in, it'll be completely. If you want to show her that you are the sweet guy she's looking for, then listen to her and respect her wishes. I know it's difficult when you have strong feelings to hold off, but trust me, if you want her, take it slow.

If you want to prove your love to her, respect her wishes and back off. She has told you already where she stands with you and to chase her will only push her away, further from you. Become the kind or type of man she is looking for to increase your chances of catching your "fish".

Actually, she is just blowing you off kindly. She sounds like a really nice girl. Continue being yourself and when she is ready, she will come to you. You sound really sweet, she would be blind to miss something like that. But respect her wishes. Be friends with her. She'll figure it out.

if she's shy - ask her out to something that will bring her out of her shell - i.e ice skating, paint balling - anything fun that requires messing about - so no having to force conversation.. will take the pressure of so you can both relax and she can get to see your sweet side (i.e helping to pick her up if she falls down, offering your jacket if she gets cold etc.)

doing what she asks would be a good start. showing her that your willing to be her friend and be there for her is the best way. she needs to know that if she ever needed you your going to be there for her.

take her and some of her friends out (group date). Usually, if you can get in good with her friends, you will get in good with her!
