They feel comfortable being unique and expressing their personalities... I like it and I admire their courage to do something that is "out of the norm" and creative

Gotta give a little history on this one first. When I was in my early 20's I used to date a guy who was big into the bike scene. Then he got into the tattoo scene. A real sweetheart of a guy - so I don't usually think anything bad about the people themselves. Here's the thing, one weekend we went to an EasyRider Rodeo and they had a tattoo contest. I've never seen so many folks with tattoos. And the thing was many of them were very old, with very saggy skin, and you couldn't tell what the tattoo was... I had been pretty eager to get a tat until I saw that... so that always comes to mind now.
As for the piercings, depends on where... ears good, nose (like in India) pretty- like a bull.. ugh, other facial ones I don't care for... body piercings? what I can't see I don't worry about, other than that occasional little thought, "hmmm, that might be fun"

I try not to look like I'm staring at the tat's. I like some of the intricate work that goes into them. If I see a heavily pierced person, I usually think ouch, but the woman who pierced my ears wasn't too professional.

I don't know what to think anymore. It's a fad now so a lot of them are just trying to fit in. The one thing that's becoming a problem with me is the attitude that evidently comes with the tattoos. It's cool to do what ever you want, but you don't have to be an *** about it. A lot of them have the belief that they are some kind of super cool mega badass, and that people without tattoos are wimps. That can be a costly assumption.

i feel sorry for them especially for the tattoo es because if they ever change their mind it is expensive and painful to remove tattoos. Also many professional places won't hire people like that so they well never make a decent living. There are exceptions to every rule but in general

Depends on what the person looks like. If it's someone like Jaime Pressly when she played the character China in the movie Torque, you immediately start drooling.
Whereas if you get some big fat ugly biker with a beard, it's not so attractive, but it may suit him.
When you get to the point of covering your entire face in piercings though, that's absolutely disgusting.

Well, I think it's cool. I have two tats myself, and have several more planned. One is my son's name, the other is my husband and my names in two hearts. Next will be one with my daughter's name, then chinese characters meaning 'inner strength' to symbolize that I have been through a lot, and can deal with it. Then, a roaring tiger, to symbolize that I may be pretty, but I'm stronger than I look. Another strength thing. And then, a memorial tat for my Grandma. We were really close, and I think she would have liked it.
I'm 21. I know these are going to be there for the rest of my life, when I'm old and everything, and I'm okay with that. I wouldn't have gotten them if I wouldn't be.

If it's a hot guy, I think YUMMY! If it's a girl, I think...WHO CARES???! Why would you care if someone else is heavily tattooed or pierced??

"Oh boy! New art!" Then I have a look. Nobody's minded yet, but then I don't grimace with an "ew, cooties" expression! I consider that people have taken some big steps to do their bodies that way, and may pay for it in more than one way. I have respect for that whether I like a particular item or not.

Depends on what kind of tattoos they have and there meaning. I have 2 tattoos and the one that means the most is my daughters foot prints with there names and b-days . to me it means no matter how old they get they'll always be with me, even when there mad. so some people it tells about there life and i respect that, but for some they just get them to be cool or out of stupidity and thats what they'll regret later in life.
