A: The part where the minister says "If anyone has any reason why these two should not be married, let them speak now or forever hold their peace". My mother was not totally happy with the idea of me "leaving" her, & when I told our minister the situation (I was afraid that she would stand up & object), he just omitted that part completely.

and

B: The part in the vows where you promise to love, honor and OBEY...did you ever notice that the obey part is only said by the bride. I got married when I was 35, so I've been pretty independent for a long time. Also, I'm Irish and have never been very good at obeying anyone or anything (LOL). Our minister let us change this to cherish & both of us had that as part of our vows.

I was actually most afraid to walk down the aisle. That was the one part of the day that I had to mentally prepare for. I didn't want to walk down it crying, I didn't want to trip, and I knew everyone would be staring at me so it was important I walked with grace. I managed to get down the aisle just fine - but I was very glad when that part of the ceremony was over with!!

That one long part that starts at "Dearly Beloved" and ends at "You may kiss the bride". Seriously though, what made me the most nervous was just standing at the altar and keeping myself from either busting out laughing or fainting.

The reception. The different sides of my family don't get along well and some people in his family should be kept separate from both sides of mine. There's a possibility that it could be a horrible disaster.

For me, it was knowing that everyone was watching my every move. I prefer to stay out of the spotlight, but I just couldn't avoid that at my wedding. But I managed.... :)

Saying the vows and putting the ring on the finger, I put the wrong hand out.
