What documents do I need as proof if my boyfriend and I breakup and my car was bought in his name?

If your car is in his name, you've already blown it. He's the legal owner, not you. If you split up, it will be entirely up to him to give it to you. If he refuses to do so, you're out of luck.
NEVER put your property in someone else's name! EVER! They could turf you out and you'd have no legal leg to stand on.
About all you can do now is ask him to title it over to you. If he refuses, you'll at least know what kind of person you are dealing with.

If you are saying it's your car, and you want to prove it's yours, and it's in his name....
Sorry, but if it's in his name, it is his vehicle, not yours. No document will prove otherwise.
Guess you chalk it up to experience and learn from it.

sorry. thats the long and short of it.
he can add you to the loan, or the title. i would do it sooner than later, or you could be missing your car one day....
