Some people may think that way...however, I believe that everyone has a story. I remember when I was 18 and working in a machine shop. They hired a guy who didn't speak much english to sweep the shop floors. Shortly after hiring him, they discovered he had an engineering degree from a University in Poland. I will always remember that. The way people spell, their accents, their problems, do not make them dumb. Everyone has a story, we just need to be willing to listen and learn from them.

If I see bad spelling in this category I'm inclined to assume English is the person's second language. But elsewhere, or when it's obvious that the asker is a native English speaker, then there's really no excuse for bad spelling. In case you hadn't noticed, there's a spell checker right above the little box where you type your answer. I assume there's one when you type a question too. All you have to do is click on it.

There are some really dumb people who can spell correctly. and judging from many Internet answers, some people focus more on spelling than anything else. Problems! There are on the other hand many intelligent people that either can't spell due to dyslexia or don't' want to bother with it. Remember, Einstein was dyslexic and problem would have multiple spelling mistakes here.

Being a poor speller doesn't mean a whole lot other than you can't type all that well, or you are distracted. Some days I can't even spell "me".
