number one choice of the greatest professionals is the fender telecaster and the Les Paul entirely different sounds but I prefer the fender telly or the stratacaster for lead guitar and embellishment playing can't beat the dirty twang of the telecaster
also the rickenbacher is the finest neck I've ever touched
this is my personal opinion only after 40 years playing
peace out and enjoy the life

If you like Ibanez try the RG series guitars.

By the way, I started a yahoo group for guitar players. Send me an email with your yahoo ID and I'll send you an invite...cheers!

I tend to favor a Japanese or American Strat but for the tone you like maybe a Les Paul Custom or a Gibson SG

Ive been playing Fender SRATS for 40 years and theyve never slowed me down!! You just have to get used to the radius on the finger board, but they vary just look and play around till you find the one that feels like it and you are a match made in heaven!
