i have chicken pox, and i like to hug my cats and stuff. can they get chicken pox? just wondering.

Hi there... your cats are unable to catch chickenpox virus as it is not considered a zoonotic disease (diseases which are transferrable between human and animal). Any vet your ring can confirm this fact.

No cats cannot catch the chicken pox. I had them real bad when I was 13 and my cat slept on me for days when I was so sick. He was just fine. You don't have anything to worry about. We don't give things to animals, but they can ocassionally give things to us expecially thru their litter when you are pregnant or thru scratching us.

Zoonotic diseases are those that can be passed from animals to humans or reverse. Chicken pox is not a zoonotic disease.

nop, chicken pox isn't a zoonotic diesease, it's for humans only.

oooooooooo fantastic Quistion !!! actully i think one of my cats had chiken pots once but we never got her checked out because we thought it was just a posion ivy rash ...it passed within a week or so ...but now that i think of it ,it might have been chicken pots ...
