My first German shepherd could say two complete sentences: "I want out" and "I want dinner." He would only use the correct response to whichever question he was asked, and his inflection and tone were just about perfect.

I will NEVER forget the day that my friend was visiting and I asked Cody if he wanted his dinner. Without missing a beat, he said, "I want dinner!"

Thought I was gonna have to take my friend to the ER after she choked on her Pepsi.

And another friend's dog completely cleared out the waiting room at the vet's office. He was misbehaving, and she asked him, "What is WRONG with you?" He looked up at her and clearly said, "I dunno."

She said people hit the door running!

My cat says "yeah", "no", "out", "food" (not a complete pronunciation, but enough distinction from other meows/words, that I know what this particular vocalization means), and "mama", I've had 3 cats I or my mother have taught to say mama, and another cat that used to say "out" and "no". I don't know if a dog has the necassary muscles or snout formation for such a complex vocalization as "delicious", but they probably could have the word in their vocabulary of understood words. Perhaps some dog could say it. What were you eating? Were you and your dog sharing "magic" brownies? BTW, dogs shouldn't have chocolate, but I think "grass" is okay, lol

My dog says stuff like "hey you look nice" and "damn, I got a bad case of gas." He just says it in "dog language." I suspect your dog did say "delicious" and you were able to understand his language due to your "stressed" condition.

If he starts telling you how attractive you are and that he wants to take things further in the relationshop then I think it's time to get a cat.
