A friend of mine just had a baby, and I want to send them a card with "Congratulations" on it (he & his wife are Korean). I'd appreciate it if someone could type in the Korean characters into their answer so I could copy them into the card.

Thanks!

I'd prefer this answer from someone who speaks Korean if possible, not a machine translation. Such translations can be useful, but they are often wrong.

Whom is this for? Here are several translations. It largely depends on your relationship to the person.

To someone higher in seniority than you (grandparent, boss, teacher) or a stranger or customer. This is very formal. : 축하합니다 chuka hamnida

To someone you know, but not necessarily close to : 축하해요 chuka haeyo

To a very close friend, someone younger than you, or someone you're very intimate with: 축하해 chuka hae
